How It Works
This catch can works in harmony with your vehicle's PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) system, maintaining its factory function. When the pressure in the intake manifold is close to or exceeds atmospheric levels, the PCV "check" valve closes, preventing flow through the hose. However, during idling, steady cruising, or deceleration, the PCV hose will experience a "metered" vacuum. This is crucial because it helps to prevent unwanted crankcase vapors, unspent fuel, and oil sludge from sneaking into your intake manifold after those high-load runs. And because Radium catch cans are pressure sealed, they’re perfect for boosted applications, allowing for a secure connection to the intake manifold.
