If you're looking to upgrade your late model Subaru, the Radium Engineering Fuel Hanger is a fantastic choice. It replaces the OEM unit and allows you to install one or two high-flow aftermarket fuel pumps, making it a great option for those who want to ensure their vehicle runs smoothly, even with alternative fuels like E85. The machined assembly fits right into your factory fuel tank using the OEM gasket and replaces the hold-down flange without requiring any permanent modifications. This means installation is straightforward and hassle-free!

Preventing Fuel Starvation

One of the standout features of this fuel hanger is its anodized aluminum collector box, designed to keep fuel around the pumps to prevent starvation. With two 1-way fill valves, fuel flows in but doesn’t escape, allowing for a total flow rate of 710LPH. This clever design ensures that your fuel system remains efficient and reliable.

The included venturi jet pump, which features an integrated pressure relief valve (PRV), helps transfer fuel from the passive side of the OEM tank to the active side where your pumps are located. This means you get suction without any restrictions on the return line, keeping everything running smoothly.

All returning fuel from the FPR and crossover hose enters the collector box through a one-way duckbill valve, which not only keeps the box full but also minimizes fuel spray noise by preventing backflow. It's all about keeping your ride quiet and efficient!

Plumbing Details

The Radium fuel hanger comes with three external ports:

  • Fuel Pump Out: Thread tapped for 8AN ORB (3/4"-16) with a preinstalled SAE quick connect male adapter for easy connection to the OEM feed line.
  • FPR Return: Thread tapped for 6AN ORB (9/16"-18), also with a preinstalled SAE quick connect male adapter for the OEM return line.
  • Crossover: This port is thread tapped for 6AN ORB (9/16"-18) and includes a preinstalled SAE quick connect male adapter for the OEM crossover line.

Thanks to this design, you won’t need an external fuel hanger plumbing kit if you’re reusing the factory fuel lines. Plus, each pump merges internally into a single port, streamlining the process. Just a heads up: a post pump fuel filter is still required!

Electrical Setup

If you're using a single pump, you can reuse the OEM fuel pump controller wiring. However, for the best performance from your high-flow pumps, consider upgrading the wiring. Fuel pump wiring kits are available for purchase—just select one for a single pump or two for dual pump applications.

Forget about those compact multi-pin electrical connectors! The custom-designed stainless steel electrical studs are perfect for handling the high current demands of aftermarket fuel pumps. These connections are hermetically sealed, making them impervious to all types of fuels. Plus, the low-profile design keeps wiring neatly tucked under the OEM access cover, with each pump featuring its own dedicated +/- electrical connections. Nonconductive anodized acorn nuts help prevent accidental short circuits, and all necessary electrical hardware is included for your convenience.

You'll also be able to reuse the factory fuel temperature and level sensors. The collector box allows for proper mounting of the level sensor, while the internal pump bracket accommodates the temperature sensor. For more detailed installation instructions, check the link at the top of this page.

This kit is versatile, accommodating either one or two fuel pumps. It works beautifully with:

Warranty

All Radium Engineering brand products are subject to a 1 Year Limited Warranty from the date of original purchase. If a product fails, it will be repaired or replaced at Radium Engineering's option when it has been determined by Radium Engineering to have failed due to defects in materials or workmanship. Warranty claims must be made by the original purchaser. If the purchase was made from a retailer other than radiumauto.com, please contact the place of purchase for further assistance.

This warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the merchandise only and shall not, in no event, exceed the original purchase price. Radium Engineering will not be held responsible for secondary or consequential damages or costs (including labor, towing, etc.) incurred due to failure of this product. Standard ground shipping is used for all warranty transactions. Expedited shipping is available, but the cost difference must be paid by the end user in advance of the shipment.

Warranty claims must ship pre-paid to Radium Engineering for review. Claims must include the failed part(s), RMA number, and original proof of purchase. If the claim is missing any of these items, it may be rejected and returned to sender. Product must be received by Radium Engineering within 14 days of RMA's issue date. Please note that before Radium Engineering can issue an RMA for any product, it is first necessary for the installer or end user to contact info@radiumauto.com to discuss the problem. Most issues can be resolved via email. Under no circumstances should a product be returned or a RMA requested before the above process transpires.

This warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable. Improper use, installation, modification, abuse, or unauthorized repairs or alterations voids this warranty. Credit for defective products will be issued pending inspection by Radium Engineering. This warranty does not extend to third party products often used in Radium Engineering products, such as fuel pumps, turbochargers, or any other non-Radium Engineering brand products.
