How It Works
The kit includes both a PCV and a CCV catch can. The PCV catch can runs inline between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. When the intake manifold pressure is close to or greater than atmospheric pressure, the PCV "check" valve closes, preventing flow. However, during idling, cruising, or decelerating, the PCV hose will experience "metered" vacuum, which helps draw in any unwanted crankcase vapors and oil sludge.
The CCV catch can works similarly, running inline between the crankcase vent and the intake pipe. At low loads, it experiences atmospheric pressure, but during high load conditions, it captures excess crankcase gases that could otherwise lead to oil and sludge build-up in your air filter intake pipe. For turbocharged engines, there's enough hose included to route the catch can outlet directly to the turbo inlet pipe.
