That’s not just for show either; this intercooler increases surface area by a whopping 85% and internal flow by 83%. What does that mean for you? Cooler charge air and better airflow, which translates to more power and a safer engine.
One of the best parts? It fits right into the factory mounting spots without any need for cutting or trimming, thanks to the billet machined aluminum end tanks. Torque Specs:
- Intercooler to Charge Pipe Bolt(s): 18 ft/lb
Using the Stencils:
- Make sure your intercooler is clean and dry.
- Place the stencil on the front of the intercooler (just double-check the PRL logo is on the driver’s side).
- It’s a good idea to tape it down to avoid any slipping.
- Mask off the end tanks to prevent overspray.
- Use a high-temp engine enamel spray paint (I like Duplicolor DE1635 Ford SemiGloss Black, but go wild with your color choice).
- Multiple coats might be necessary for full coverage, depending on the color.
- Let it dry for 30-60 minutes before you install it.
- If you mess up, acetone or paint thinner can help clean it up, but be patient—it takes time.
- Keep that stencil safe for future touch-ups; you’ll thank yourself later!

The PRL Motorsports Limited Lifetime Warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, regardless of the age of product, but it does NOT cover normal wear and tear. Wear and tear is damage that naturally and inevitably occurs as a result of normal use. Regardless of how carefully you use or how well you care for your PRL Motorsports product, it will eventually begin to show age and wear. Common examples of wear and tear that would not be covered under the Limited Lifetime Warranty include abrasions, scratches, color changing from heat in exhaust components and so on. Less common examples include flex-section wear over an extended period of time.
