Maintenance Recommendations
To ensure your air filter remains effective, PRL Motorsports recommends a visual inspection at every oil change. Clean your air filter element whenever the screen visibility is compromised or every 30,000 miles, whichever comes first. If you frequently drive in dusty or off-road conditions, be prepared to clean your filter more often.
Filter Recharging Steps
- Pre-Cleaning: Gently tap the filter or blow air to dislodge excess dirt.
- Apply Cleaner: Spray the filter with a cleaner solution and let it soak for about 15 minutes.
- Rinse: Use warm water to rinse the filter from the clean side to the dirty side to flush out dirt.
- Drying: Allow the filter to air dry completely. Avoid using heat to prevent shrinking the cotton.
- Apply Oil: Re-oil the filter using approximately 1 spray per 2 square inches of filter surface, being careful not to over-oil.

Only original, unaltered and unmodified materials and workmanship are covered by this policy. The PRL Motorsports Limited Lifetime Warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, regardless of the age of product, but it does NOT cover normal wear and tear. Wear and tear is damage that naturally and inevitably occurs as a result of normal use. Regardless of how carefully you use or how well you care for your PRL Motorsports product, it will eventually begin to show age and wear. Common examples of wear and tear that would not be covered under the Limited Lifetime Warranty include abrasions, scratches, color changing from heat in exhaust components and so on. Less common examples include flex-section wear over an extended period of time.
