PCI Race Radios Trax Plus Ulitmate 2 Seat Bluetooth and DSP with Headsets On-Board Intercom

If you're looking to upgrade your ride's communication system, the Trax Stereo Headset setup is a solid choice. I've had my fair share of experiences with different intercoms, and let me tell you, this one stands out. It's designed for UTVs, sand cars, prerunners, and even boats—basically, any vehicle where you need top-notch sound quality and clear communication.

Inside the box, you’ll find everything you need to get started. First up is the TRAX Plus Stereo Bluetooth Intercom. This little powerhouse comes with two Trax 5-pin, 12-foot headset cables that feature quick-disconnect Nexus mil-spec connections. It's all about convenience, right? You also get two high-quality stereo headsets that are comfortable enough for long rides. They come equipped with full-range, high-fidelity speakers, gel ear seals, and cloth covers—perfect for those bumpy trails.

Now, let’s talk about the Icom F5021 Mobile Radio. This beast delivers 50 watts of power on VHF, with an alphanumeric display that makes it easy to navigate through 128 pre-programmed channels. If you’ve got specific frequencies in mind, just drop a note with your order, and they’ll hook you up. You’ll also find a 17-foot hole mount coax and a no-ground plane antenna, so you’re all set for solid reception.

One of the standout features of the Trax system is the Bluetooth capability. You can easily pair your phone or any Bluetooth music device, allowing for hands-free calls and music streaming without the hassle of wires. The one-touch operation lets you play, pause, or skip tracks effortlessly. It’s really a game-changer when you’re cruising down the trail.

And if you’re rolling in a loud vehicle—think V8 engines or open-top rides—you’ll appreciate the Digital Signal Processing (DSP). This feature electronically filters out all the background noise, ensuring that all you hear is your voice and the music you love. You can toggle it on or off with just a touch, making it super user-friendly.

The Trax system is built to last, with military specifications that ensure durability. It’s got digitally controlled squelch and noise cancellation, plus it automatically mutes music when you’re speaking. Installation is straightforward, too; it comes with all the mounting hardware you need, and if you’re unsure, you can check out the installation instructions here.

In short, if you want an intercom system that delivers both performance and clarity, the Trax Plus Ultimate is worth considering. It’s got everything you need for a seamless experience on the road or off it.

What is PCI Race Radios?

PCI Race Radios has been the leader in off-road and racing communications since 1972. The company takes pride in its extensive field testing, competitive prices, unparalleled customer service, and simplified packages that make communications easy with unmatched support even after the sale. With more than 45 years of experience in the off-road racing industry, PCI Race Radios develops and tests all of its own products. The brand has a full-service technical repair shop at its headquarters in Long Beach, California, and provides trackside, mobile services to its desert enthusiasts at off-road races. PCI Race Radios supports the ASA, CORVA, ORBA, and the San Diego Off-Road Coalition. It also sponsors District 37, SCORE, SNORE, MDR, MORE, CORR, BITD, and provides desert racers with the Weatherman Relay Service.

PCI Race Radios is a family-owned company that is dedicated to taking the time to both “race and play.” The company tests its products on dirt bikes, motorcycles, quads, rock crawlers, race cars, Raptors, RZRs, Mavericks, and boats. It can, therefore, thoroughly understand consumers’ needs and offer hands-on recommendations from experience.

Who is Behind PCI Race Radios?

PCI Race Radios was started in 1972 when Bob Steinberger put communications in the vehicles of Bill Stroppe, Joe MacPherson and Walker Evans. At the 1974 Mint 400, Steinberger sent up three weather balloons with 500 feet of coax attached to them. It was that day when the first successful radio relay from a pit was made. Since then, Bob’s iconic status has spanned through nearly half a century of work with his communications brand, PCI Race Radios.

Bob Steinberger passed away in 2017, handing over the company to his son Scott, who has been racing since 1983. Scott Steinberger understands what goes into racing and the importance of quality (communication) products that help get you to the finish line.
