The LLY Duramax comes with a charge air system that can feel a bit restricted right out of the factory. We noticed that those small-diameter factory tubes could be holding back some serious power. That's why we decided to step things up by increasing the tubing size to a robust 3 inches, which has shown remarkable power gains compared to the stock intercooler system.
Impressive Results
During our dyno testing of the HSP upgraded intercooler tubing, we were thrilled to see significant horsepower and torque boosts from this often-overlooked component. This new tube flows an impressive 53 percent more than what the factory unit can manage. Keep in mind that power increases can vary between models based on tuning calibrations, turbo options, and aftermarket fuel systems. One thing is certain: the amount of air you can move is directly tied to how well your intercooler system flows.
