Girodisc 2-Piece Replacement Rear Rotors for Mitsubishi Evo

If you're looking to upgrade your Evo's braking without going all-in on a big brake kit, the Girodisc 2-Piece Rear Rotors are a solid choice. These rotors are designed to be a straightforward swap for your stock discs’no mods needed. Just bolt them right on, and they’ll pair perfectly with your OE calipers.

One of the standout features of these rotors is their weight. The Girodisc rotors come in at around 12 lbs, compared to the stock units at about 14.5 lbs. That’s a nice little reduction in rotational and unsprung weight, which translates to quicker acceleration and a more responsive suspension. Who doesn’t want a little extra pep in their step?

Now, let’s talk materials. The central hat section is crafted from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum sourced right here in the U.S. The rotor itself is made from Girodisc’s proprietary cast iron, also poured and machined in-house in the USA. We’re talking about serious quality control here, folks.

Another cool feature is the curved vane design. This isn’t just for looks; it’s engineered to act like a centrifugal pump, pushing cooling air through the rotor to keep things from overheating during those spirited drives or track days. And with a floating mount system that uses 8 or 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, you get a setup that can handle the heat’literally. These pins are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance and designed to take the load from braking while allowing for axial and radial float. Plus, they’re secured by grade 12 cap screws with hardened washers, so you know they’re built to last.

Worried about noise? No problem. Girodisc has you covered with anti-noise spring washers that keep things quiet when the rotors are cold. They allow for thermal expansion without the rattle you'd typically associate with floating rotors. This design also helps the rotor self-center between the brake pads, which is a nice touch.

When it’s time for a rotor swap, you can easily replace just the cast iron rotor, keeping your investment intact. These rotors are sold in pairs, so you’ll have everything you need to keep your Evo performing at its best.
