Carl Borkholder began to design an adjustable tri-ball/pintle combination hitch which allowed a truck to tow multiple different trailers. The result of this work was the development of the patented GEN-Y Hitch. GEN-Y Hitch has continued to develop the GEN-Y Hitch line, which currently encompasses eight Class IV hitches as well as 3 Class V models. All of these hitches are designed with multiple stacked receivers that enable the three-ball mount, to be easily adjusted for height and have weight capacities from 10,000 lb to 32,000 lb
